Cambodia trip ~ 15/5 to 20/5

It was 15/5/2008. I'd broken my own record for being myself to travel to Cambodia. Haha.. it was the furthest country that i had travelled so far. =.="

Here's some bravo pictures and photos sharing with you~~

Departure from Changi airport - with pei pei, tyng tze, wenkeat, louis, jeevan, wantan, michelle n bernard.

Arrival at Cambodia Airport

Free "Tuk Tuk" to Palm Garden Lodge

Beautiful Hotel De La Paix

Apsara dance and nice buffet dinner

Angkor Wat - This world largest religious monument is architectural amazing and visually breathtaking. It is the symbol of the Khmer Kingdom at its peak and is the heart and soul of all Khmer people.

Angkor Thom - a fortified Royal City built by King Jayavarman VII

Bayon - worth mentioning is the bas-reliefs on the exterior of the lower level. A must see and a great place for photography enthusiasts.

Terrace of Elephant - used as a giant reviewing stand for public ceremonies and served as a base for the king's grand audience hall.

The indescribable Ta Prohm - The trees growing out of the ruins are definitely the most distinctive feature of Ta Prohm. Vines from the trees had grown inside, on top of and through the temple, creating a beautiful display. It was used as a location in the film Tomb Raider.

Preah Khan Temple

Neak Pean - Magical Hospital. The healing waters flowed out from the lake in the cardinal directions, through fountain-heads in the forms of a lion, an elephant, a horse, and a bull, the same four creature found upon the drum of the famous Sarnath lion capital.

East Mebon Temple - the brick towers for installing Lingas.

Banteay Srei Temple - Architectural and decorative features inspired by Hindu epics are unique and fine. A tapestry like background of foliage covers the walls of the structures in the central group as if a deliberate attempt had been made to leave no space undecorated.

Landmine Museum - houses an amazing collection of defused landmines and unexploded ordnance that Aki Ra has amassed over the years. Through the displays and artifact, you sure have a real sense of what Cambodia and its people had been through.

Sunset on the Bakheng Mountain: Fresh air!!!! Sadly can't view the sunset.. it's raining =.="

Floating Village - There are approximately 3,000 people that actually live on this lake. It is completely self sufficient, with schools, gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants all floating amongst the homes in the lake. It doesn't seem like a sanitary situation - going to the bathroom, drinking, bathing, and fishing - all from the same source. There was even a floating crocodile farm. It's one of those moments when you question the way we live when others are going through daily life like this.
